With the launch of the Mi brand of mobile
devices in April 2008, he created a new market category in
Telecoms within the emerging mass markets.
Alpesh is a veteran of the Telecoms industry,
starting his career in the early 1990’s by being one
of the pioneers in introducing Mobile Devices into the then
unknown Chinese market. In the Mid 90’s he then moved
back to his home in Africa as Regional Director, Harris Microwave
Corporation where he gained immense knowledge of the African
Telco arena.
In 2002 Alpesh joined Motorola Mobile Devices
as its Regional Manager for Africa where he took the brand
to No.1 market share in key markets such as Kenya, DRC, Madagascar
and Zambia. He quickly went on to become Motorola’s
Director of Sales for Middle East and Africa and was single
handedly responsible for distributing over 5 million handsets
within a space of two years. His skill and vast experience
within Emerging and Frontier Telecom markets makes him an
Industry leader in his field. He holds a BSc ( Hons ) from
the University of Hull, UK and currently maintains a dual
residence in Johannesburg, South Africa and Dubai, UAE

Nicolas began his professional career working
in commercial radio in South Africa where he worked for YFM,
KAYA FM and METRO FM. As a
keen content producer Nicolas then went on to executive produce
television in South Africa and later across the continent
for MNET music
and entertainment channels.
After five years as an executive producer
Nicolas formed a media, music and entertainment company which
focused on mainstream advertising, branded entertainment and
product placement.
In 2006 Nicolas made his first foray into
the African continent with a consultancy providing creative
marketing and activation solution
services for Motorola which is where he met Mi-Fone CEO Alpesh
Patel. Together they embarked on an aggressive marketing campaign
for Motorola in 15 African countries which got both of them
recognised by their respective industries. Nicolas went on
to do youth based marketing and experiential work for Coca-Cola
and Voice of America.
In 2008 Mi Fone appointed Nicolas as Chief
Marketing Officer, Nicolas has been with Mi Fone since its
inception heading up all of the brands
communication needs.
Nicolas holds a media and communications
degree (BA Hons) from University of Central England and is
based in South Africa.

in the software world.
He is also President and founder of
mErgence Mobile a value-added technology consultancy.
Mandar worked for 8 years for a "Big
5" IT consulting firm where he honed his skills in software
architecture and implemented several award winning solutions
for Fortune 500 companies.
Mandar holds B.S (Chem. Eng.) from IIT Bombay
and MBA from University of Delaware.

He is a Shenzhen native and a veteran in
the mobile devices industry having started his career in 1988
as being one of the first importers of handsets into the lucrative
China market
Over time Alex has gathered immense knowledge
of technology transfer and mobile phone manufacturing processes
as he has witnessed first hand the immense growth of Chinese
ODM mobile manufacturing
Alex maintains excellent relationships with
all the major supply chain houses such as Foxconn, Arima Technologies,
Compal Electronics , Longcheer , Cellon and ZHYI.

He is currently the CEO and co-founder of
Emergent Telecom Ventures, an Emerging Markets Consulting
and Asset Management firm specialising in Telecoms, Media
& Technology
Mr. Amersi and Emergent have been lead Advisors to a number
of Emerging Markets Telecom Operators in the Middle-East,
Russia, the CIS, Africa and Emerging Asia on significant M&A
initiatives and license purchases. Likewise, on the principal
side, Emergent has successfully acquired, managed and exited
from a number of Telecom assets, primarily in Russia &
the CIS
He has been a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s
Inn and a member of the Law Society of England and Wales
Mr. Amersi has been a featured speaker at various forums,
including the Milken Institute on topics relating to telecoms,
satellite, internet, media, private equity and international
corporate finance. He is a former Senior Advisor to the Rothschild
Group and a member of the Board of Rothschild Middle-East,
a member of the Board and Audit Committee of Megafon and a
Senior Advisor for Russia and the CIS to the Motorola Group
Mr. Amersi was educated at Merchant Taylors School and read
Jurisprudence.

Kenneth Yiptong has been in the Telecom industry
with over 20 years of experience.
As an entrepreneur, he was one of the pioneers
in the Paging industry and was the first Operator to set up
an Internet telephony service in Mauritius.
His foray within the Mobile Devices sector
included being the Official Distributor for Motorola for the
Indian Ocean Islands capturing sales in excess of 1m units.
In addition to being a Director and Board
Member of Mi-Fone (BVI) Ltd , Mr Yiptong also holds several
key positions such as Chairman of the Yiptong Group which
is listed in the top 100 companies in Mauritius, President
of the Mauritius Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Board member
of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce & Board Member of
AfriNIC Ltd (the internet registry for Africa),
Mr Yiptong holds a BA in Economics from Laurentian
University in Canada and resides in Port Louis, Mauritius

Andersen Consulting) in London, and has since garnered over
20 years' experience in IT, trading and the hospitality business
in the UK, South Africa, Rwanda and Nigeria.
Heis the founder and CEO of FoodConcepts
Plc (www.foodconceptsplc.com) and started the group in 1999.
He has since then led his company through
the various stages to its current position as a top 5 (by
market share of revenues) of all QSRs in West Africa, and
one of the most-respected and up-market brands in the industry
Deji has a BA Information Systems (UK) and
an MBA from Cardiff, Wales.
