Mi was conceptualized and created by Alpesh Patel, a seasoned telecoms professional who saw a gap in the market for a brand which catered to the youth specifically. Alpesh works with a team of strategists, manufacturers, brand specialists, retailers and distributors to make the Mi Story a reality and has in 6 months made incredible headway Mi launched in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Mauritius & Madagascar in Q2 2008.
Modest breakfast functions were held for the press and key players in the telecoms industries - Mi was also graced with the presence of the Permanent Speaker for communications at the Kenya Launch (Insert Pic). In the 7 months since Mi began business operations they are now shipping to over 10 African countries and have signed a Joint Venture partnership for India,Nepal and the CIS countries. Mi is a new player in the telecoms market with a significant job to do in building a presence amongst what is doomed a fickle 'youth' market. Without giving away trade secrets - Mi is hedging its bets on creating an aspirant yet accessible lifestyle for its target market across the continent The Mi range of handsets are stylish, reliable and affordable.
One of the unique selling points with Mi is the reflective 'Bling' housing on the products. Rosegold and Chrome versions of the Mi-Metallix 200 & 300f are going down very well with customers across the continent.
