Mi-Choice - giving back to the community
On 01 December, World Aids Day, Mi-Fone went out to streets in Johannesburg and handed out branded condoms, joining South Africa and the World on a continuous fight against HIV/AIDS and in creating awareness on how the pandemic is affecting us all.
Mi-Fone added focus to the youth segments within mass market sectors. With its innovative, vibrant and hip brand offering, coupled with several media initiatives EMCEE Africa (Channel O), Mi-Fone is able to speak directly with the youth segment.
In the company’s bid to give back to the youth, mass market and the community in general, Mi-Fone launched its own Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign late in 2008, with the introduction of its own branded condoms aptly called “Mi-Choice”, an AIDS awareness campaign aimed at improving the social welfare of the people in the communities it operates in.
Mi-Choice supports organisations such as NGO Prevention, Information et Lutte contre le Sida (PILS) in Mauritius and also distributes its condoms for free to hospitals and AIDS Clinics in parts of Africa.
